DIRECTIONS
Use Co-Mate to maintain a cleaner heating system burning wood or a wood-based fuel. This reduces the risk of chimney fires caused by creosote, improves efficiency and reduces emissions. We recommend emptying the ash collection more often during the first few weeks. Check your heating appliance regularly for accumulation of fallen ash.

 

Co-Mate is an important part of any chimney maintenance program to ensure the system is continually safe to use. Yearly inspections are always recommended. For best results, Co-Mate should always be added directly into the combustion chamber on a hot fire. To maximize Co-Mate distribution in your chimney, alternate your application between high and low burning fires, if possible. Dosage rates may vary with each system and/or the quantity and quality of the fuel used.

The following are recommended dosages. We encourage you to experiment. If you change your dosage regimen, wait for a few weeks before changing it again to allow enough time to monitor for changes in your chimney. For optimal effectiveness, apply Co-Mate as regularly as possible.

Wood Stoves and Fireplaces: Each day, add 3 tbsp (42g) of Co-Mate during the first 14 days of operation, reducing to 2 tbsp (28g) every second day the system is in use.

Pellet Stoves: Add 1-2 tbsp (14-28g) of Co-Mate into the burn pot each time a bag of pellets is emptied into the hopper.

Wood Furnaces: Every second day, apply 1/2 cup (112g) of Co-Mate into the fire directly, or spread across a stick or log and then place it in the fire.

CAUTION

Before first use, your chimney should be inspected and in the case of a very dirty flue, cleaned to reduce the possibility of blockage from falling creosote.

Co-Mate is not poisonous. If swallowed, have 1 or 2 glasses of milk or water to help flush it through your system.

 

In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, call a physician. Keep out of reach of children.
